TG provides a safe place for people to come to every day with social distancing and other health and safety measures in place. The leadership team understands and prioritizes the importance of health and safety to employees, job seekers and families.
“TG has been fortunate to withstand and overcome many obstacles in the twenty years we have been in Brighton,” says Mike Smith, Senior General Manager. “Recovering from the COVID-19 economic pandemic is just one recent example.”
As many people in the automotive industry know, there have been many crises and uncertainties in the last two decades, from the tragic events of 9-11, the economic downturn of 2008 that lasted 18 months, and most recently the economic stoppage from the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic.
TG is still going strong, with contributing factors being employee development, strong relationships with customers and suppliers, and optimizing strengths and opportunities from being a global supplier with a presence in 17 countries and regions while employing more than 39,000 employees.
“We take pride in the stability we have been able to offer employees, which is critical during times of uncertainty,” says Mark Allen, Senior General Manager overseeing HR & EHS, Finance and IT. “It was a relief knowing that we all had positions to come back to after being closed for 7 weeks due to COVID-19, but we were anticipating a ramp up, not expecting record sales for July.”
While TG has had to adjust, adopting brand new practices as most of the world has, and providing flexibility. There is no doubt we will quickly stabilize and continue thriving in the community.
In order to keep moving forward, TG is committed to continuing to invest in training and development of its employees. Eighty-four percent of employees in advancement roles have been promoted from within as they continue to grow and develop.
