TS16949
Now recognized as the global automotive industry quality system standard. This specification, with Japanese (JAMA) input, aligns existing American (QS-9000), German (VDA6.1), French (EAQF) and Italian (AVSQ) automotive quality systems standards within the global automotive industry. Together with ISO 9001:2000, ISO/TS 16949:2002 specifies the quality system requirements using the "process approach" for the design/development, production, installation and servicing of automotive related products. In addition, there are customer specific requirements that are required by individual subscribing vehicle manufacturers.
QS-9000
Now considered to be the premier designation of quality conformance in the automotive industry, QS-9000 holds suppliers to the demanding requirements of the world's automakers and tier suppliers. Initial certification is done by qualified third-party registrar agencies with surveillance audits to re-examine part of the system may occur every 6 months with a total assessment completed with each three year cycle. QS-9000 is the worldwide recognition of a company's development, implementation and adherence to the highest standards.
ISO-9001
A "cousin" to QS-9000, the ISO-9001 is a worldwide standard that recognizes an organization's ability to standardize and maintain its processes that contribute to the development, manufacture and delivery of products and services at every level of the organization. Third-party certified registrars make the ISO-9001 standard the internationally recognized benchmark for quality in any industry.
ISO 14001
Similar in format to QS-9000 and ISO-9001, this standard serves as the international environmental management system standard for all industries worldwide. Those earning the ISO 14001 certification are seen by the world as being in tune with environmental responsibility and commitment.
