New Resin Fuel Tank Plant to Open in California
Lathrup, Calif., February 3, 2003 — Established in November 2001, Fuel Total
Systems California Corporation (FTS-CA), a wholly owned subsidiary of FTS Co., Ltd., is near completion
of its resin fuel tank plant. FTS Co. Ltd. of Japan, a joint venture between Toyoda Gosei, Toyota Motor
Corporation and Horie Metal, is the parent company of FTS-CA.
“FTS-CA plans to begin mass production to New United Motor Manufacturing Inc. (NUMMI) in early 2004
with plans to gradually expand its operations,” stated Mr. Kyoji Ikki, FTS-CA president.
In 2004, FTS-CA targets sales of $47 million and a workforce of 70. The company plans to increase
sales to $86 million by 2007.
