TG Missouri Celebrates Employee Achievements
PERRYVILLE, MISSOURI (June 16, 2004) – TG Missouri Corporation (a Toyoda Gosei North American manufacturer of steering wheels, air bags and interior / exterior parts) held an award appreciation ceremony on Monday, June 14th, to express gratitude to their employees. The event recognized the attainment of the Superior Launch Award from Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America (TMMNA) as a result of their efforts in the successful launch of the 2003 Sienna Mini Van.
Dignitaries such as Missouri State Representative Scott Lipke, State Representative Jason Crowell, representatives on behalf of State Senator Jim Talent and Congresswoman Jo Ann Emerson, several local officials as well as distinguished representatives from TMMNA, were on hand to join in the employee celebration. A special proclamation citing the achievements of TG Missouri (TGMO) was read by Bob Miget, the Mayor of Perryville and presented to Mr. Nobuo Fujiwara, President of TG Missouri.
While the award itself was received in March and presented to the President, the TG Missouri management chose to publicly recognize the employees for all of their hard work and dedication. “Our employees embody the American ‘Can Do’ attitude for success”, said Ron Lovett, Executive Vice President of Operations for TG Missouri. The company took out two full-page ads in the local papers to thank their employees for their efforts and continuous commitment to quality. TGMO’s appreciation for their employees extends into all aspects of their operations. Even the company quality slogan, which states, “Quality today, assures a tomorrow”, was selected as a result of a plant-wide employee contest.
Award consideration was based on individual plant effort as well as quality and delivery performance. Specific areas of consideration included 1) special efforts to overcome late sourcing of business or delays in design, 2) extraordinary effort in implementing engineering changes, 3) implementation of new technologies, 4) value-added / value engineering suggestions and acceptance, 5) delivery at each trial event and 6) quality.
