Toyoda Gosei Recognized by Honda for Leadership in Quality, Delivery and Corporate Citizenship

Troy, Mich. – Honda of America Mfg., Inc. and American Honda Motor Co. recently honored Toyoda Gosei North America manufacturing facilities in Waterville, Quebec, Canada and Brighton, Michigan for their leadership in key performance areas, as well as corporate citizenship.

In Canada, Waterville TG Inc. received a Service Parts award for the second year in a row from American Honda and a Corporate Citizen Recognition award from Honda of America.

In addition, TG Fluid Systems USA in Michigan was honored by Honda of America with a double award for Quality and Delivery, as well as the Corporate Citizenship Recognition Award. This is the first time that two plants from the same corporation have earned the citizenship recognition award. Both Toyoda Gosei Group companies were recognized for these Corporate Citizenship Awards because of their leadership in the areas of environment, diversity, government relations, community involvement, health and safety, and ethics and compliance.

TG Fluid Systems received the double award for quality and delivery based on perfect performance in those two critical areas, as well as ranking very high in productivity.

A total of 79 Honda of America awards were presented to 63 Honda suppliers throughout North America for top performance in the areas of on-time parts delivery, quality, and productivity improvements, as well as corporate citizenship.

During the 2008 Supplier Conferences, Honda’s “Driven by the Future” theme stressed the importance of being committed to the environment and society, having a strong company DNA ingrained in a management structure with well defined processes, and promoting a balance of innovation and flexibility in all business practices with the ultimate goal to exceed customer expectations.

Honda reaffirmed that a significant factor in their Corporate Citizenship focus is promoting education in the local community, and announced a $10,000 donation to “IknowIcan.org”, a Columbus-based organization that supports school graduates, giving them the opportunity to attend college.

Inspired by Honda’s vision of promoting a company culture that wants to give back to society, Toyoda Gosei North America is proud to announce it’s “Adopt-a-school” initiative, encouraging TG facilities to sponsor a school in their local communities by volunteer work or material / monetary donations. This initiative spans 6 states and two provinces in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

“It’s an honor to receive these awards from such a prestigious company. These are the result of the dedication and hard work that our employees put in everyday. We believe it’s also recognition that Q-C-D is a driving force at Toyoda Gosei,” commented Yuzo Saito, President of Toyoda Gosei North America.
