What is Afforestation and why is it important to Toyoda Gosei?

Afforestation is the process of establishing a forest on land where there is no forest. By planting trees or sowing their seeds and caring continually until the trees grow collectively as a whole into a forest as planned. Afforestation stops the earth from eroding, helps with water supply, and is a rich source of wildlife. It also helps cool the earth and rid the air of carbon dioxide, giving out oxygen which is essential for life. Afforestation can also protect homes and buildings in the event of hurricanes, tsunamis and earthquakes. The forests created will help protect people and the planet through such functions as noise and dust protection and water purification.

Afforestation is important to Toyoda Gosei because we are committed to the environment and the communities we live and work in.

Afforestation is important to Toyoda Gosei because we are committed to the environment and the communities we live and work in. Our fundamental conviction and the cornerstone of our corporate philosophy is “A company that fails to take measures to protect the environment has no future”. Toyoda Gosei is continuously involved in activities for environmental conservation and social contribution. Our activities for protection of biodiversity and prevention of global warming aim to create an environment where humans, business and nature can coexist. We plan to achieve this through the planting of approximately 600,000 trees in about 60 domestic and overseas locations.

Our future is based on how we care for our environment now. Preserving the environment should be the duty of everyone living on this earth. It is our commitment to support environmental practices daily and remain environmentally conscious to the needs of our society — TG Cares
