Nagoya Rubber Co., Ltd. is established as a spin-off of the rubber research division of Toyota Motor Industry Co., Ltd.
1950

Development of TG's first rubber weatherstrips.

Company name is changed to Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd.
1978
Company is listed on the Nagoya Stock Exchange.
1980
1986
TG (U.S.A.) Corporation, now TG Missouri Corporation, is established (Perryville, MO) as the first manufacturing facility in North America and the first greenfield operation outside of Japan.
1986
TG enters into a joint venture with Produits Cellulaires Waterville for production of weatherstrips in Canada (Waterville, QC).
1987
TG Missouri Corporation starts production of safety systems.
1987
Produits Cellulaires Waterville changes its name to Waterville TG Inc.
1988
TG acquires 100% stake in Waterville TG Inc.
1988
TG started production of interior and exterior parts in the United States.
1989
Toyoda Gosei starts production of steering wheels with built in airbags.
1990

TG Technical Center is established (Madison Heights, MI) as a North American sales and technical office.
1997
TG started production of functional components in the United States.
1999
TG Technical Center is renamed to Toyoda Gosei North America Corporation and expands its role to become the regional management headquarters for North American operations (Troy, MI).
1999
Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd. is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

Toyoda Gosei started production of interior and exterior parts in Canada.
2001
Toyoda Gosei started production of weatherstrips in the U.S. All automotive business segments are now operational in the United States.
2003
TAPEX is acquired (Matamoros, Tamaulipas) to support safety systems production. It is TG's first location in Mexico.
2003
TG started production of millimeter wave compatible emblems.
2008
Toyoda Gosei North America Corporation established LED sales office (San Jose, CA) for the Americas region.
2008
TG started production of weatherstrips in Mexico.
2008
Toyoda Gosei started production of lightweight plastic fuel filler pipes.
2010

TG started production of functional components in Mexico.
2013
GDBR is established in Brazil (Itapetininga, Sao Paulo) as the first location in South America. GDBR produces interiors and exteriors, safety systems, and weatherstrips.
2014
Toyoda Gosei Irapuato Mexico, S.A. de C.V., is established (Irapuato, Gto.) to produce interior and exterior, and functional components. All automotive business segments are now operational in Mexico.
2014
Professor Isamu Akasaki and Professor Hiroshi Amano win Nobel Prize in Physics for development of the blue LED.

30th anniversary of TG in the Americas
