Research & Development

Next Generation Development

Founded initially as a research company, TG has continued to emphasize the importance of continuous development within the automotive industry. We are a leader in enhancing current technologies and predicting next-generation needs.

In the Americas, TGR Technical Center, LLC (TGRTC) supports our global R&D efforts. The facility is designed for the highest level of development and testing. From its state-of-the-art hydraulic servo sled to full vehicle environmental testing, TGRTC employs a variety of measures to ensure products exceed global safety standards and protect the people that matter most.

Product Development Process

Toyoda Gosei expertise is incorporated in every step, from development through production.

Planning

Looking beyond next-generation vehicles, we design the future products that set the direction for TG technology.

Development

To bring ideal products to reality, we analyze issues from multiple approaches: mechanics, circuitry and materials.

Technical Design

In design, our emphasis is on ease of use. In addition to performance and manufacturing conditions, we make products from a thorough user’s perspective.

Evaluation

Product performance is assessed using both CAD and trials, in which we theoretically answer the questions of why things occur.

Production Prep

Starting to create processes in parallel with product design helps us to deliver new value to the market quickly.

Manufacturing Education

Proper understanding of our products and processes by employees is important.

TG University programs support the Company’s initiative to identify and enhance the unique talents of its employees by providing opportunities for growth and advancement within the Company.  In our program, employees acquire enhanced lean manufacturing knowledge and skills in the Toyota Production System way, 5S standards and safety.  Participants engage in activities with a combination of classroom instruction and on-site, hands-on application.  Each activity provides opportunities to implement Kaizens.

Technical Education

At our location in Perryville, MO, team members have a unique opportunity to acquire technical degree/certification on the TG Missouri campus. Ranken Technical College’s on-site facility provides theory and hands-on practice in a lab setting where employees are introduced to concepts through online multimedia training modules.  They then practice these concepts on shop simulators to gain hands-on experience.  Highly skilled instructors assist participants throughout the program and facilitate hands-on training.  Classroom and lab experiences are followed by internships that put participants on the production floor, in their real-world working environments.
